The new Miss Mississippi is Asya Branch.  Branch won the crown at the Vicksburg Convention Center Saturday night, and is already preparing for Miss America

The third time was the charm for Asya Branch.  She came to Vicksburg as Miss Tupelo and wins the crown of Miss Mississippi 2018.

Branch says she is hopeful the crown will also help her get out a message of hope to children who have parents who are incarcerated. Her Dad has been in prison since she was 10 years old.

Branch told us, “that’s been the toughest circumstance. We lost our home to foreclosure and he was our main source of income and so having to overcome all those struggles and tribulations it was truly difficult but I’ve overcome it and I am going stronger than ever.”

The New Miss Mississippi says it is like walking on air to achieve the goal of winning the state title and representing Mississippi at the Miss America Pageant in September.

Branch added, “that is my absolute dream and to be able to stand on the Miss America stage I can’t even fathom that right now. But when that time comes I plan to represent Mississippi the best I can and pray to bring home that Miss America crown.”
